Harald Schuh教授,德国国家科学与工程院院士,柏林工业大学卫星大地测量学科知名教授,国际大地测量协会(IAG)荣誉主席。曾任德国波茨坦地球科学研究中心大地测量部主任,国际大地测量协会(IAG)主席,德国大地测量委员会(DGK)主席。先后获得欧盟笛卡尔奖(2003),欧洲地球科学联合会(EGU)Vening Meinesz奖章(2011),美国地球物理学会(AGU)Ivan I. Mueller 奖(2022)等。
Harald Schuh教授长期从事空间大地测量学。在德国地学研究中心建立了全球最大的VLBI研究小组之一,在大气效应建模和地球自转方面做出了杰出的工作。2015年2月,他推动了一项全球倡议,促成了联合国关于 “可持续发展的全球大地测量参考框架”的决议。
Brief Introduction of Professor Harald Schuh
Harald Schuh is the member of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), professor of “Satellite Geodesy” at TU Berlin, and honorary president of the International Association of Geodesy (IAG). He was the Director of Department “Geodesy” at GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences Potsdam until the end of 2023. He is the Past President of IAG and Chairman of the German Geodetic Committee (DGK). He received the Descartes Prize of the European Union in 2003 and was awarded the Vening Meinesz Medal of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) in 2011. In 2022, the Geodesy Section of the American Geophysical Union (AGU) honoured him with the “Ivan I. Mueller Award for Distinguished Service and Leadership”.
Harald Schuh's scientific home is geodesy. At the GFZ, he rendered outstanding services by founding the VLBI working group, which is one of the largest research groups on VLBI worldwide. His work on modelling atmospheric effects and the Earth's rotation is particularly noteworthy. At an international level, Harald Schuh drove the global initiative that led to the adoption of the UN resolution on spatial reference – “A Global Geodetic Reference Frame for Sustainable Development” – in February 2015.
